THE MOST EXPENSIVE SOLVENT IN POLAND

Next to ink, solvent is the main consumable used in industrial continuous ink-jet printers. Its role comes down to the fact that it keeps the density and viscosity of the ink constant and then evaporates with your money.

Mostly these are very serious amounts, but in the case of Leibinger printers they are striking.

We are the first company to carry out an in-depth price analysis of Leibinger's basic and most popular solvent for printers numbered 77001-00030 (SSN1830).

       Solvent 77001-00030

Over the course of four years, we reached more than 100 Polish users of these printers from various industries. We spoke to employees at every level of the purchasing department, production department, investment department and company owners.
These customers manufacture and mark with Leibinger printers: cables, pipes, cosmetics, candles, glass, food products, engine parts, electronics, foils, PVC and ALU profiles, explosives, medical equipment, building materials, spacers and many other products.
Where possible, we looked at offers for the sale of printers and solvent, which provided a strong factual basis for this entry.

What emerged from this work was a clear and multi-sourced picture of the price of consumables for Leibinger printers and, above all, solvent No 77001-00030.

Curiosity: Leibinger solvents have a capacity of 950 ml. By contrast, In the majority of offers for the sale of printers (made in Poland between 2011 and 2016), its capacity was specified as 1000 ml (sic!). We were able to find out from people associated with Leibinger that this solvent in such a capacity does not exist!

Solvent 77001-00030, as it is a basic solvent, is used with a wide range of inks, among others:
1. black 70000-00030
2. white pigment 79000-00104
3. Semi-pigmented yellow 74000-00105
4. black 70000-00126

Leibinger's basic inks: black 70000-00030, white pigment 79000-00104, yellow semi-pigment 74000-00105, black 70000-00126

And how much does this solvent cost? How much does a Polish user have to pay for it?

Its price in Poland is EUR 35 net and is usually converted at the NBP selling rate. Converting this exchange rate into zlotys according to the date of this entry, the price is 162.05 PLN net for 950 ml !!!
Considering that one Leibinger printer can easily absorb around 10 solvents per month (60 μm nozzle, 3-shift operation, optimum temperature conditions), its user will buy 120 solvents per year worth of PLN 19,446.00 net. And that, in turn, means that the value of these solvers will be higher than the value of any Leibinger printer except the top models like the JET3 and JET3-UP!

So when it comes to the price of the basic solvent, the specialists from Leibinger have distanced themselves from all the competition. However, this should not come as a surprise, as they did not install locks in their printers in order to offer low prices to customers afterwards. For details, see earlier post ATTENTION! BLOCKADE, where we described this phenomenon in detail.

The only question that remains to be answered is whether Polish users of Leibinger's printers can do anything to pay less for this solvent?
Answer: Of course they can, and as of mid-2021 their capacity to do so has increased dramatically.

We are therefore happy to answer any questions you may have on this subject.
